Silicon Valley’s current favorite buzzwords are “AI agents.” Venture capitalists and founders alike have published numerous op-eds painting an optimistic picture of a future in which “agentic” artificial intelligence (AI) models are able to do everything from scheduling meetings to purchasing airline tickets to tasking autonomous drones to planning and ordering a grocery list.
